That new adventure you have been wanting to pursue, but can come up with every excuse in the book to procrastinate. This is the hard truth and sometimes you don’t even realize you have put it on the back burner for so long. It’s been in the back of your mind, but life gets “busy!” You have your
hands full with work, kids, sports, cooking and cleaning, just to name a few. I get it, I know the feeling all too well. And sadly, but true, sometimes life has to throw a curve ball your way, just to make sure you are paying attention!
My curve ball recently, was death of my aspiring, young nephew whom was in a tragic car accident. It was so real, all too real! He was going to college, pursing his dreams, he had PLANS. The realness of
this, definitely made me step back a bit and look at the BIG picture, stop and smell the roses, and last, but certainly not least, take an honest look at MYSELF!
This is LIFE, it is happening NOW! It has no timeouts, pause buttons and it is not always going to wait for you. Take that idea that has been lingering in your head and make it an opportunity. Grow and learn from your experiences. Don’t get stuck in that rut, be strong and pull yourself up. MAKE life happen, you can’t always wait for it to come to you. Don’t live with regrets. You NEVER really know what is yet to come, but in the meantime, you need to ask yourself…Are you living truthfully, honestly and with integrity to others and YOURSELF? Are you taking care of yourself to the best of your ability…MIND, BODY, and SOUL? Are you living up to your highest potential, or are you just going through the motions of life? Have you found your purpose in life, your gift, and thought about how to give that gift to
All of this might get you thinking a little bit about your goals and how you can even conceive how you would achieve them. It’s overwhelming, it’s scary, but what if you fail? But I ask you this…what if you DON”T?! What is going to happen? You can either keep going about your business, wondering “what if” OR you an take a chance and JUST DO IT!
Maybe it is simple as trying a new fitness class and healthy eating lifestyle, but you’re afraid to “fall off the wagon” again. No worries. If you get knocked down, the key is not to stay there. Drive hard and dig deep. Just keep going! Consistency is the key. Success comes in multiple trials and errors, but you learn from them and put what you learned into action. THAT is where the magic happens.
Put forth your BEST YOU! Baby steps, if you must, just take baby steps. Life is short and you only get one shot, so make the most of each and every day! “Don’t be afraid to fail. Be afraid not to try.”
